Kyneri, Sage of Song and Chronicler of all things Hyrule. He’s the companion assigned to the Hero by Hylia, and he takes his job with pride (and mischief).

He’s only the size of a mouse but he’s capable of so much damage with the erhu he has strapped to his back. Elemental magic, magic buffing, even sealing magic— he’s a powerful little rodent! Not to mention he has magic to change his size and disguise himself as a Hylian.

As Daphell’s guardian, he’s taken on a weird role as he acts like a watchful mother but is a “dad”. (He’s trans don’t worry about it.)

Daphell Koshia, Hero of Blight. He wears the ofuda on his arms (and sometimes his legs) to keep the Malice in.

I wanted him to have Buddhist theming, more specifically with the concept of Blue Lotus Hell. Hell in Buddhism isn’t eternal (it is RIDICULOUSLY long though!) and there are several hells, each with their own way of inflicting punishment. The Blue Lotus Hell, or Utpala Hell, is called that because it’s so cold that your skin develops blisters, the blisters freeze, and because ice has a larger volume than water the skin bursts and it looks like one is covered in Utpala lillies.
