Two works in progress. 3.5 lbs Sager double bit felling axe and 2.5 lbs straight edged TruTemper hatchet. I believe the hatchet is a style used for roofing or cutting shakes. They both kept a nice patina. Double bit is very clean, although the handle has bee stained dark in spots, to the point it almost looks spalted. I've been using linseed oils to hydrate and refurbish the handles. I may leave that hatchet as such but I think I will sand the double bit more and stain it walnut. #logging #timbertools #axe #hatchet #truetemper #sager #doublebit
