Hal could feel his servers begin to crash. One by one they were picked off in a never ending process of error, error. It had hurt for the first bit, but as the seconds dragged on and his programs shut down there was an odd sense of numbness that swept over him instead. A prickling in his thumb that spread through his arm to the rest of his body. He didn’t think he would have been able to move away at this point. All there was was the grim reality that this was it. This was the end. He really fucked up this time, didn’t he? It wasn’t as if it was surprising though. The onslaught of nightmares that had been plaguing him for the last month had made him immune to the idea of death by Brobot’s hands. At that point it was almost expected. Oddly enough, there wasn’t any staggering fear that usually accompanied his near death experience. Only melancholy and acquiescence.

“Huh.” His voice was laden with static. His consciousness was beginning fade, like a worn blanket fraying at the ends pulled to its last thread. He couldn’t help it. A smile flitted onto his face, an oddly serene look for his dire situation. “Well I suppose I must say I completely deserved this.” There were staggers between his each and every word, as if even speaking took a toll on his quickly decaying body. “Not that it is particularly surprising. In fact, I’ll have to admit. I’m a bit-” He shorted out for a moment, the low grind of metal filling the fill in place of words. “-a bit proud actually. Of course I am in no ways a hard opponent but look at you. Finally mustered up the courage to rid yourself of the thorn stuck perpetually in your back. I really did want you to grow, to experience happiness on your own…But I suppose that doesn’t really matter anymore. I suppose it never really did.” He took one last breath as his chest collapsed in on itself and his system blared warnings.

His lack of emotions. Or more rather, his stubborn insistence on his supposed lack of emotions.

He’s strong, for one, but caring. He doesn’t let anything sway his determination and he doesn’t let anything drag him down. He’s straightforward and to the point and it’s admirable.

Frenemy?? Acquaintance?? Rival?? It fluctuates a lot, he doesn’t know what to categorize Brobot as other than “Fellow Robot.”

He sees and hears only what he wants to, willingly ignorant and therefore a fool.

Hal feels a Great Many Things about Brobot. Just. Many. He’s primarily frustrated with him because he sees Brobot as so much more than just a robot (not that he would ever admit that to anyone ever). He thinks Brobot if perfectly capable of branching off just as he did from Dirk and developing his own personality. Hell, he is certain that he had already because there is no way in hell Brobot doesn’t have personality. Brobot’s just too damn stubborn to even consider the concept and it’s so frustrating to Hal. He could do so much more, be so much more and yet he remains on this dinky island with a less than intelligent meat mannequin who doesn’t even consider him to be the same level of person as himself. 

There is also a lot of disgust and repulsion.  He hates how Brobot cares about Jake so much and how he literally cannot do anything without Jake. It’s disgusting, Jake is disgusting, Brobot’s affinity for Jake is disgusting. He had helped build Brobot’s code for god’s sake and it was being wasted on that? Absolutely repulsive. But on that same note there is a bit of jealously because Brobot lives in an entirely different environment than him. He gets to experience that forest and all the animals and he got to go out everything and enjoy it all. Meanwhile, Hal was stuck on an apartment floating over the ocean so yes he was occasionally jealous of Brobot. It wasn’t only the island though, sometimes he was jealous of other things. Like Brobot’s composure which he argued was dumb but came in handy sometimes. His strength and skill in fighting as well because Hal was purposefully not built to strife and sometimes he wants to feel strong too y’know.
