Inktober Day 26 : Puzzling
Medium : Digital, Sumi Ink
What's more puzzling than yet another strategy based board game? In his 1952 book on board games, a British historian made a note of a game from Bihar called Pretwa. I'm not sure how prevalent this game still is, couldn't find anything more than what was written about it in the 1952 book. But it does seem like it is making its round on the internet for sure.
Here's a Pretwa board featuring Tikuli Painting, a folk art from Patna which is typically done on wooden fibreboard (MDF to be specific). Art heavily referenced from here.
This Inktober, I'm planning on using the prompts to explore South Asia's folk traditions!
