What if NAHA finds this mysterious blue glaxy liquid that they use to copy Ray’s physical body, but realize it didn’t retain his abilities, so they throw him away and now there’s just a random Ray lookalike roaming around in the streets in a blue sweater and looks like he slept?

MC: “Ah, sorry, it’s just that you look so similar to someone I know.”
“Ray”: “That’s alright, bye!”
MC: leaves

So, I love this question and not gonna lie, I’m about to barf up a whole lot of words and ideas.
So, first thing I think of is, he is a copy of Ray but a failure and so they have to get rid of it. So yea, he ends up escape BUT, not without help and I think someone helped him. Ever since he’s been under the radar. Flying low.
Naturally, he’d be a little surprised that someone found out he’s a dopperganger indirectly! If I’m being honest muffin, he’s an escapee. He’s not trying to be seen or get in trouble. He knows he’s supposed to be “Binary Star” that’s what he was supposed to be a copy of. Not the man behind the mask. He’s just a man, he has no powers to defend himself if things came down to it. Even if he finds out, his original document (aka Ray) is here he’ll probably flee to the town. I am fairly certain that Ray would be aware of a copy existing. Now maybe he forgot but it’s in his brain somewhere. A kid who can read minds just hears.
“Well we copied him but, the copy was a failure. I guess we just have to stick with this one.”
That the answer I have concocted for you, Copy Ray would be staying in his lane so to speak. No doubt MC would be telling of Ray that she saw someone that looked exactly like him. He’d be gone in an hour.

I’m not sure how this relates in my brain but, it is and I must share with you and everyone else who reads this. I won’t give away too much but, my next series I’m cooking up is about villain Ray. This villain Ray/ Apollo, goes diving into NAHA files after killing everyone and find a dimensions gizmo. What does he do? Looks at all the dimension of Ray, every version every life he could have had. Hero Ray has many variants, villain Ray has many variants, so does normal Ray. A Ray without powers. Maybe this concept connects with your question I y head cause a copy Ray is a “version” or “variant” of Ray!
