Tidal Pull - Privitak
Tidal Pull, a spell card for MetaZoo: Wilderness. We wanted to include different cryptids in scenes like this, and obviously I felt it important to pick something that makes its home in a body of water large enough to be affected by the tides. Hence, Chessie, swimming around in Chesapeake Bay.

After the American Civil War, Union soldier Steve Rogers takes a chance on an opportunity to sail with the Stark Trading Company down in the Caribbean. During a terrible storm, his ship is lost. To his surprise, he survives, and ends up stranded on an island that isn't quite as deserted as he first thinks.
Or, a reverse Little Mermaid tale where Steve has to fall for the fish-man.

I was watching some Coyote Peterson videos on youtube and saw one where he caught an octopus and thought of Tidal Pull. How octopus like is Tony? Like obviously he's got the tentacles, but can he change color? What other features does he have? Venom? Is he modeled after any particular species? What did he look like as a baby? Looking at baby octopuses now, they're so tiny and cute!
He can change color, though is currently a lovely bright red with gold flecked spots. No venom, and I’m not enough of an octopus person to tell you what species he looks like (check out the stunning artwork by @tastes-like-coconut), but the story will definitely give you an explanation of his origins. If you want to read the first chapter, there is a link on my Dreamwidth, and that gives you an idea of where things are headed.
