Trigger warning for mentions of ticks, Lyme disease
I love my family doctor. Without his quiet suspicion and the subsequent blood test, it would never have come out that I had a tick bite sometime within the last 6 years and am now dealing with Lyme disease. Ironically, it explains what has been strange health-wise for the past two years.
The biggest irony, though, is that as far as I know I survived my childhood in the country without any tick bites and didn't get Lyme disease or anything like that. But now, after 20 years in the city, I get something like that. Crazy world.
My doctor also thinks that the way it looks in the blood, it's been longer than 6 months since I was bitten and that it explains why I've been having problems with fibromyalgia for some time. The funny thing was that he said that six years ago he had already suspected it in me, and at that time the results were negative. So now I know that it happened sometime after that.
MY suspicion is that it was about 5 years ago, and it had simply rested for a while in the body, especially since the antibiotic that I have now received, I often get for bronchitis and so it was probably always a little contained. Only now that by Corona the people wear masks and have been more attentive to hygiene, I had only once a minor bronchitis in the last 18 months and the stupid borreliosis bacteria had free rein. It is at least a guess from me. Whether it is true or not, I can ask the doctor next time.
But hey, the good thing about today was: The result of the long-term ECG and long-term blood pressure measurement were there and everything is ok. So it's just the stupid Lyme disease that we have to take care of.
