The Young (aged 26) Prince Louis Napoléon Bonaparte (future Napoléon III) at the castle Arenenberg (Thurgau ,Switzerland) where he spent his youth.. He stands with Lake Constance behind him.
Fun fact: Louis Napoléon was a Swiss citizen. He spoke the Thurgau dialect without an accent, graduated from the Thun Military Academy, and served as an artillery captain in the Swiss Army?

Best boat shots of the Bodensee Rundfahrt
Boats have obviously been very important for the Bodensee, and they still are, but to a different extent. Road and rail can manage most of the logistics, so the majority of boats on the lake are tour boats, which do also ferry passengers along their route (as I did in June between Gaienhofen and Berlingen), but there are still some purely utilitarian vessels left.
Lindau, Germany. German company BSB's tour boat München makes a proud entrance to the harbour between the lion and lighthouse.

🇩🇪 /🇨🇭 Constance (Konstanz) and Thurgau as Seen from the West - a gouache painting by Johann Heinrich Bleuler the Younger from 1836.
Constance is a pretty city in southern Germany, close to the border with Switzerland. Lake Constance (in German: Bodensee) is named after it.
