Look— I don’t think Smosh is completely ALL to blame with the whole thumbnail thing. We should also blame the fandom bc at this point the majority of the fandom doesn’t care unless it has their precious ship in it. The amount of view and/or likes is really important for a channel bc that’s what gets it its money, so the company is forced to bait the rabid shippers with Shayne and Courtney. WE MUST MAKE OUR VOICES KNOW.
on youtube - comment your grievances on smosh videos with the typical thumbnails. comment on videos without noah, keith, and olivia, where they should rightfully be. if you feel too anxious for that, like the comments that ask for change. boost them over everything until they’re the only thing that can be heard.
on twitter - share the thumbnail discourse. speak on how you want to see more of other people. boost them up so that they’re all that can be seen.
the only way to foster change is to open people’s eyes to the problems we’re seeing.
