#thrush?

So, last night, as I was using my toothbrush as a tongue depressor and saying ‘Awwww; into the mirror, looking at my red and white stripped throat, and wondering if I had throat cancer and was going to die soon, it occurred to me that perhaps the reason my sore throat, etc. wasn’t going away was because it wasn’t viral or bacterial, but fungal.

So, I looked it up cos all I know about thrush is that babies get it. Apparently, adults do too.

Most of the symptoms don’t actually match, but some do: Sore throat, feeling like I have food stuck in my throat all the time, trouble swallowing ... and it’s just not going away.

My sub-conscious must’ve come to the same conclusion earlier in the day cos I had stopped at Earth Origins and bought some Fage Total Greek yogurt just that day. I’ve been out for a long time; hadn’t worried about it cos I didn’t really see or feel any health difference with it. 

Actually, my sub-conscious got me to stop there to buy a sugar-free chocolate bar and then just nudged me over to the yogurt, you know, while I was there. My sub-conscious is a sneaky little fuck.

Anyway, I ate some right before bed last night and for the first time in a while my throat feels quite a bit better this morning and I’m a bit less congested than I have been being.

It still looks like a peppermint stick in there -- red and white stripes -- and there is still a niggling cough and  I still feel like there is something caught in my throat, especially when I swallow.
