"I'm getting alarmed by how many people are secretly bigots. As a straight, catholic-raised, middle class white guy, I get it. There's not a lot of voices right now that are singing our praises. We have more role models than we know what to do with. Batman is white. Superman is straight. This country was founded by men that looked an awful lot like me, except maybe wearing funny wigs. We've grown up with no shortage of heroes, real or imagined. We can do anything, be anything, and we fear so very little for our lives, our safety, or our liberty. So don't be a dick because minorities are getting more attention than you right now. Seriously. They're playing catch up for having caught the short end of the stick for pretty much ever. Have some patience. Be an ally, not an antagonist. Support your friends as they stick up for themselves against oppressive forces you may never really know the likes of. In the end, there is no difference between yourself and someone who is LGBTQ, or black, or muslim, or anyone else under the sun. No difference except the love and respect that you've always taken for granted, and that you can grant them, as your brothers and sisters, for absolutely no cost."

i've already crocheted like four and a half sweaters but none of them are truly awesome. ultimately i'm hoping to learn enough knitting to supplement my crochet, which is CLEARLY the SUPERIOR yarncraft

So it occurred to me today that Facebook is your public persona. You only post neutral things there in order to not offend your family.  Tumblr is your true self. Because there is no judging on Tumblr. And if there is... you slap a bitch down. Everyone is weird in equal measure on here. 

Also interesting that (as far as I am aware) there are plenty of celebrities at the World Cup, but none boycotting it.
