Spotting her acquaintance in the park, and out of curiosity, Cadence went to see him. There seemed to be a cloud, his own personal raincloud above him and she wondered what was wrong. 

{ ❦ } ~ “I didn’t expect to see you here of all places.” She paused. “You look like you have a lot on your mind.”

House sat clutching his cane in front of him, his chin resting lazily on his hands. He watched the abundance of park-goers carry out their allotted activities: picnics, jogging, birthday parties-- it made him slightly nauseous just to look at other people’s happiness.  

He didn’t bother turning his head as Cadence approached his bench, ending his moment of isolation.
