Send me âDonât chase the rabbitâ and your muse will be shown a random memory from my museâs past.
The sixteen-year-oldâs eyes perked up when the host of the music show introduced another boyband, curiosity sweeping over his features rather quickly. While he wasnât very fond of the Korean mainstream music that seemed to be loved by everyone, including his peers, Junmyeon couldnât avoid finding certain acts very appealing and talented. Besides, he couldnât listen to classical music all day long without melancholy settling down in his heart and making everything a bit dimmer. Therefore, it was nice to branch out in different directions.
"No," the woman shook her head before raising a hand to absent-mindedly pat the boyâs head whose eyes were focused on the small part backstage where the idols would have to enter the stage. "Daesung-ssi and Seungri-ssi said their fellow members are still getting dressed up."
"Have you talked to them, Ajumma?"
She nodded her head before her face split into a small smile. âOf course I have, stupid. Jiyong is my nephew, after all.â
Junmyeon heaved a sigh as if to say âI know, I knowâ but his lips remained sealed, instead offering the woman next to him a crooked grin. âHe could be a model for the company⌠actually, all of them could be. What do you think, would they be up for it?â
Upon the sound of footsteps reaching her ears, she turned around to be greeted with the sight of her beaming nephew, causing her to gently nudge the boy next to her in an attempt to get his attention. âWhy donât you ask him yourself, Myeon-ah?â
"Are you insane    â The younger retorted, instantly growing pale at the sight of the approaching singer but before he could even so much as consider running away, his nannyâs hand was curling around his wrist and forcing him to stay.
"Jiyong-ah, you look exhausted. Really, you should rest more. What do I tell your mother when she asks me how you are?" A greeting wasnât necessary, not when it involved family. Junmyeon always admired the way she could so easily emit kindness and sternness all at once.
"You tell her that her son loves her very much and misses her beyond imagination. That should do it, right?"
The woman grinned but her smile quickly faded into a neutral expression upon noticing her protegĂŠâs distant facial expression. At times she forgot that he wanted nothing but to be close to his family too and to rub it in his face like that    it just wasnât fair.
