“I’m sorry, we are out of that. Can I get you something else instead?”
How embarrassing, it was the Cafe’s grand opening week and she hadn’t ordered enough stock of the requested item. Echo made a mental note to submit a new purchase later. She hoped it would not inconvenience the woman. Running a cafe was different from her experience working at one, or working as a servant. There were a lot of logistics to keep in mind that her diary had turned into a ledger as of late.

One already had to forage in the city with no power if they wanted food or supplies. Spock did not realize the danger until he’d already started home with the bag of groceries. It wasn’t much, but it was enough for himself and the person he planned to cook for. He left money behind for them, despite the fact that the store was unmanned.
But as he walked home he heard the unfamiliar screech of some sort of monster that began chasing him. Common sense said he had to get to one of the safe zones. He also thought that perhaps he had a chance to distract the monster with some food.
“No, not that.” He shifted through the bag for the best food to sacrifice. He couldn’t give up the bagels, Jim loved those. He screamed and dropped the bag as large teeth sank into his side, the opposite side from his heart, but still dangerous.
He sank to the ground, spilled groceries surrounding him. He gasped and pressed a hand to the flow of green blood. The safe zone was just a few yards away but he could not move. He did not even know if the monster was still around.

“Well, isn’t this a bitch of a situation?” He extends one hand, feeling the way magic still flows through his veins, to his fingertips. He could be powerful, if he wanted to be - if he needed to be.
If there was one thing Anders knew it was that he always needed to be.
Still, he forces a smile - it’s not too convincing, given the huge bags under his eyes, and how tired he looks, but it’s there on his face, anyway.
“Is there anyone here in need of healing, do you know? I might as well do something useful while I’m here.”
I used to play Anders in Citta! I despise him. His muse will never leave me, ever.
While fighting the undead wasn’t a brand new concept for Morgan, these beings that had began to spawn from the ground were a little bit.. different in how they moved and how they acted. Some had very strange and unique body types to them that didn’t make sense but Morgan didn’t have much time to ponder any of that. People were in danger and he saw it in himself to try and help the populace seeing as the attack was sudden.
It was an easy enough task to cut through the shamblers given their rather slow movements, although some of the faster ones did catch him off guard momentarily, which required a bit more reaction time to deal with them. For the most part however, things were at least doing well until a rather strange occurrence happened.. and that was the appearance of different shamblers..
These being animals.
Morgan looked onto a growing crowd of them start to appear as he held up both tome and blade in preparation. Sometimes a risen would have an undead mount with it, but these were forest creatures it looked like. Why they showed up as well was strange.. but they seemed to cautiously circle him, waiting for a chance to ambush him.
“ Not good.. act slowly, Morgan.. don’t get ahead of yourself here..! “

Dorian let out a grunt as he gave another zombie a solid knock to the head, not wasting a moment in twirling his staff to jam the sharpened end into the abomination’s skull as soon as it hit the ground. Even a breath of hesitation could be the difference between life and death in situations like these - a fact that the necromancer unfortunately knew all too well. Naive, he supposed, to think that he would be done with all this after arriving in this... wherever this was.
“So tiresome, this zombie business.” He sighed to the heavens and gladly took a moment of reprieve to reach inside his robes to seek out a handkerchief. There was no reason to let presentation suffer, even on the battlefield. Dabbing at the sweat beading on his brow, hazel eyes which only slightly showed his years in the corners scoped out the slew of corpses left in his wake. Oh, if only he had the rest of his powers. He could have made them all fight each other and wouldn’t have had to do any work.

“That’s... too much food, don’t you think?” Cain’s gaze moved towards a certain Draph who started to make a little tower of plates. Sure, this was a banquet and everyone could eat their fill but certainly he wasn’t used to see a lot of food for one person, and he was friends with one of the biggest eaters on the army, a Draph at that. “Ah, sorry. I... didn’t meant to sound rude, my apologies.”

“Death isn’t permanent here, but...I don’t think its wise to eat yourself into a stupor either.” It wasn’t any of Sasuke’s business, but seeing how this woman was stuffing her face, something urged him to comment.
He wasn’t about to shame her for enjoying the food, but it just looked like she needed to slow down. At least a little bit.
