#three cubs

Three small whelps were huddled around the mouth of the cavern staring out to the vast whiteness of ice and snow. Six pairs of glowing blue eyes darted back and forth for any life from enemies or the creatures that lived in the territory.

Everything seemed safe, there was nothing holding them back to go outside and play in this strange new world.

The smallest of the pups screeched out in shock as one of his brothers pushed him forward into the snow. Falling face first into a small pile of snow. Thrashing and getting back up on his feet the Eliksni pup hissed at his sibling before tackling him.

“Cob that was so mean! It was cold as the lake water!!”

“HEHEHE!~ Yeah but at least we know it won’t kill us!” Cob snickered wrestling around with Gil in the snow. Angry screeches and hisses from the smaller pup turned into laughing when he shoved some snow into his brother’s face. The small fight between the two made them journey out a little further from the cave to go and play around in the snow.

The biggest of the three siblings, Juh, had only stood by and calmly watched with small amusement. Keeping his sharp eyes open for any dangers that would suddenly appear. His mother had told him that no one ever ventures out this far into the EDZ. Neither Cabal, Taken, Fallen, nor Guardian ever came to this part.

The reason why they never did his mother had never had told them.

“Juh!! Come on this is fun!!” Cob had cried out before digging into a trench. One moment they were shoveling snow at each other, now they were digging tunnels and connecting them to one another. For brief moments Gil would randomly pop his head up from the snow and should for Cob. Cob would do the same and reassure the younger sibling and both would continue on with their digging.

It seemed safe enough to join them. The other didn’t didn’t seem affected by this white fluff so he might as well join in on the fun.

With a loud cry of excitement Juh sprinted forward and jumped on top of Cob and wrestled around with his brother. Caught off guard by his elder brother’s appearance Cob wrestled back snickering and attempting to push Juh off of him. Gil only laughed and watched as he shoveled up the snow on top of his siblings before joining into the fray.

The pups were so busy playing with one another that they had failed to realize the one thing they always had to watch for.

Enemies.

A terrible roared echoed out through out the mountains that all three of the brother stopped and looked around to where the sound had come from. Gil had sunk behind Juh and begin to whimper in fear at the sound. Cob, claws balled up into fists stood his ground and growled, as if to challenge to whatever made the sound but trembled and stood by the elder brother’s side.

“We need to go back inside..” Juh whispered quietly to his brothers as he gently ushering Gil to head back for the cave which the small pup gladly did. Cob stood still for a few seconds and slowly, but cautiously followed after Gil keeping low as possible to the ground.

Taking one last look around into the tree’s and brush Juh had begin to follow after until he saw a flash of gold and red. But among the clash of gold and red their was also silver. Large bulk and snarling teeth as a large group of Warbeasts stared down at the Eliksni pup with one goal.

To kill.

With a blood curling howl from the leader of the pack all of the beasts charged through the snow heading towards them fast. Though a few of them were lagging behind due to deepest parts of the snow but that didn’t seem to stop them.

“RUN!” Juh screamed plowing through the snow trying to catch up with his brothers.

Gil screeched out in fear and tried sprinting through the snow, Cob had come up beside him and tried to pull him up to keep up the pace with him. They never should had ventured so far off from the cave! They didn’t even realize they were so far off until now!.

“COB THE TUNNELS! GO THROUGH THE TUNNELS YOU TWO MADE!” Juh cried out before diving into a tunnel and heading up. Cob had only shoved Gil into one before diving in after him.

Maybe with all the tunnels it would throw off the warbeasts and they would leave them alone.

But of course Cob’s own thoughts were cut off when the part of the tunnel in front of them collapsed and a warbeast’s head nearly tore off Gil’s head. The pup began screaming in absolute fear and backed up into Cob trying to head back into the other direction from where they came. Cob stumbled over Gil and jabbed a claw into the beast’s eye causing the creature to yip out and pull its head out of the way.

“Gil let’s go! Hurry!” Cob hissed reaching back and pulling the young pup ahead to continue, but he only began to cry and remain in place, to frighten to move.

“Where’s Mother!?! We need Mother! She said she-”

“MOM’S NOT HERE RIGHT! NOW SHUT YOUR WHINING AND GO!” with that said Cob yanked his younger brother off his feet and moved him forward into the tunnel and into the cover of snow.

Up ahead coming from another tunnel Juh lead the others to his best ability as the elder brother. He thought to himself that he should had kept them inside until their mother had returned, maybe this would had never happened to them if they had waited for her.

A cry of pain broke Juh from his thoughts as he realized that was Cob’s cry. Turning his head and looking over Gil Juh spotted his brother being dragged down the tunnel by the ankle from a warbeast and out into the open.

“COB!!!!” he cried out climbing over Gil and following after his sibling.

“B-Brother! Wait-”

“GIL GO BACK TO THE CAVE AND STAY THERE! I’LL BE BACK!!”
