This lichen thread painting study looks a little like an Edwardian leaf crown, well in my muddled mind it does. I am trying to work on different projects each day so that I have a break and then look at them more objectively when I get back to them.

Day 20 of #SeptTextileLove is texture. Usually I try and give the idea of texture in my thread paintings with just the long and short stitch. Sometimes however I am tempted to pimp my long and short stitch with something else as shown here with tufts of black silk for the caterpillar spines on this pendant.

Finally I am stitching outside, I am usually not a fan of working in the garden but I am giving it a try. However the second some kind of creature lands on my work or a bird does it's buisness on my silk ...
