CLOSED STARTER FOR @iridcscentmvscs FT. JOANNA & SAHAR

the vampire was going on a hike and not for any reason other than the fact that she should explore more of the island she was now living on. she stopped at a tent and furrowed her eyebrows. she felt like she’d been walking for a while so she was surprised anyone would be living out here. it was as if on cue, the door was being unzipped and someone’s head was poking up, “is there a reason you’re like forever away from civilization? i think that probably means you’re hiding from something. are you hiding from the cops?”

“you know,” joanna started and looked over at the other woman, “i’m genuinely curious. maybe this isn’t something i should be so hyper-focused on but i just would like an opinion. to you, what’s the most important part of a relationship?” she couldn’t help but think about how her most recent relationship ended in divorce because her husband, now ex, refused to trust her. it was frustrating and she knew she should move on but she needed to talk to someone to finally get it off her chest and who better than the woman she’d met when she first got here? she’d been a good friend to her so far and so she didn’t see it blowing up in her face. not yet anyways.

joanna had zoned out for a couple of seconds. she had a habit of doing that and it wasn’t because she found what the other was saying boring but she just liked to overthink things. every situation she was in, everything the vampire experienced was something she would think about more than she should. “-what?” she asked, snapping back into reality and letting her eyes land on the only person she’d ever changed, and that was just to save his life. “i’m sorry, brandon. i was listening but my brain turned off for a couple of seconds. what was your question?”

“are you immortal?” she asked. maybe that was kind of a crazy question to come right out with but she’d discovered soon after arriving on the island that a lot of the inhabitants were supernatural. “i’m just curious. do you find eternal life boring? like, you would think you’d never run out of hobbies to take up or things to learn but at some point...you’ve learned all you’re willing to learn, right?” she leaned against the bar and shrugged her shoulders. “i have a degree in pretty much everything. what’s one odd thing you’ve learned over the years? i’d love to know.”

joanna plopped down on the couch next to frankie, “so,” she paused for a couple of moments, “i met someone and they’re human and...” she trailed off, a sigh escaping her lips, “i don’t know how to tell him i’m a vampire. the last human i dated tried to force me into changing him and it’s not like i think he’ll do that but how do i know? and what if he hates the supernatural? i just, i don’t know, i don’t want him to think i was hiding anything from him. does that make sense?” she asked, tugging a pillow toward her and hugging it against her chest. “what do you think i should do?”

she didn’t expect to see him here but out of all the faces she’d seen over the years, she remembered his. joanna had watched the man kill her maker and husband all those years ago and back then, she wasn’t all that strong but now, she knew how to use her strength and she was positive that she would know how to out smart the other. joanna wasn’t stupid. she’d gained a lot of knowledge over the years and she knew how to use her looks to her advantage and that’s exactly what she was going to do. she took a deep breath and smiled over at him as she approached him, “is this seat taken?” she nodded toward the bar stool.
