this couldn’t be happening. finn didn’t want to believe that he was actually paired with the other but unfortunately for him, he was. it wasn’t that he had any hard feelings toward the other. in fact, it was the opposite. there was some sort of chemistry between them despite the fact that the other had a girlfriend and finn tried to deny whatever energy was between them. he cleared his throat as he sat across from him, “so, i can just handle this project all on my own if that’s easiest. i promise i don’t mind.” @predatorymaniac​

finn groaned as he hung up with his mom and rubbed his hands over his face. he definitely wasn’t looking forward to seeing his parents, he never did but now he had to find someone to make himself look good since his grades weren’t that great and he didn’t really have anything else going for him. he looked over at his classmate and friend, “am i the only one that hates when their parents come to visit?” he asked, a sigh leaving his lips. “i don’t really want to hear them nag about how i should be doing better. got any solutions? i’m thinking if i find some arm candy then it might now be so bad.”

finn heard who he thought was his coworker walking up to the room they were supposed to be cleaning for the next showing and decided to have a little fun with it. he jumped out from behind the wall after shouting ‘boo!’ and then froze, his eyes wide. “shit,” he cursed, under his breath. “i thought you were someone else. i’m so sorry.” he apologized, hoping that they would be able to just laugh it off.

if one thing was for certain, it was how nervous finn was for the dinner with his parents. it wasn’t that they thought that would hate dj because honestly, who could? but it was just that they were a lot and he didn’t want them to embarrass him and push the man away from him. their original meeting time had been changed, the one that caused the two of them to be together in the first place but something had come up and now, he was way more attached to dj than he was before. he had yet to get up and get ready for a dinner they had to be at in less than two hours. his head turned as dj stepped into his room and he opened his arms for him, “i’m nervous.” he admitted, just wanting the other next to him. 

wow. that’s the only thing than ran through finn’s brain the entire time he watched the band. he’d been a fan for a while and he’d never gotten the chance to catch a show until now. he’d moved his work schedule around quite a bit just to be able to make it. although, he was sure he could’ve called out and the local video store wouldn’t have missed him all that much. by the end of the show, he found himself trying to remember the last time he had that much fun. sure, he came alone but even so, he got to enjoy one of his favorite bands live. he was seated at the bar when the drummer sat right next to him and he stared for a minute, probably longer than he should’ve. sure, he was no billie joe armstrong but he was still xen’s fan regardless. “hey, man.” he started, his hand rubbing against the back of his neck. he was trying his hardest to play it cool but it wasn’t really working. “you guys played a great show. i gotta say, i’m a big fan.” 

finn might’ve tried too hard to look good. this was a never ending cycle though. first dates, they made him nervous and this one really made him nervous. he wanted alex to see that he was putting forth an effort. he pushed his fingers through his hair and knocked on his best friend’s door. he’d normally walk in but this was a date and he wanted it to seem like a date. he glanced down at the flower he held in his hand and almost wondered if it were too cheesy. he shrugged off his worries the moment alex opened the door and flashed his best friend, his date, a smile. he held it out for him to take, “hey.” he leaned in, pressing a kiss against his cheek. “are you ready to for our date?”

Finn didn’t know how this happened. He really didn’t know how he ended up feeling the way he did for his best friend but god, he was as so glad things were the way that they were. He was glad he overheard Alex on the phone and he was glad they went on a date. At first, he wasn’t sure how things would go between them but as far he could tell, feelings were growing. He woke up with Alex being the first thing that came to mind and the thought of the boy, put a smile on his face. He was sitting next to him, his eyes on the screen in front of them as they played video games. He kept nudging Alex in attempt to distract him so that he could win. “Come on, Alex. Just accept the fact that I’m gonna win and that I get the prize.” He spoke, putting his bottom lip between his teeth as he focused as much as he could but he knew they were both distracted with how close they were sitting next to each other.
