there were small things that still surprised jace after thirty years of being on earth. mostly all of them had to do with saanvi. it felt like only yesterday that they were dating and now, they were married. not that they didn't enjoy being married. quite the contrary - he was loving every minute of it. especially those lazy mornings when he just got to cuddle them and neither had to rush to get out of bed. or sometimes he'd wake up earlier than her and surprise her with breakfast in bed. he wanted to savior moments like that.

"go relax and pick something for us to watch," he said as they finished up breakfast. "i'll clean up and join you shortly." he was already standing up to gather up their plates and start putting everything in the dishwasher before saanvi could protest. once he had put everything away, he poured them both another cup of coffee before joining her on the couch. "well, what have you picked for us?" he asked, handing her one of the mugs and sitting beside her.

“I was just taking five- oh, it’s only you.” Scorpius commented, seeing his cousin walk through the door, “I thought you might have been Lyra trying to track me down to ensure I was having a good time.” He commented, leaning back against the wall.

          “one day at a time is what we’ve got. it’s what everybody’s got when you think about it.”
