Devin glanced up at her with a faint smirk when she called herself his favorite patient. “You might be onto something there,” he teased, voice low but warm. “Though if the others find out, I’ll be in trouble, so I guess I’ll trust you to keep my secret safe.” He had a playful wink before his eyes focused back on her calf as his fingers carefully pressed along the muscle and tendon. “You’ve definitely been putting in the work. I could tell if you weren't. Your dad’s making sure of it, huh? Should I be worried he's gonna take my job away with you?"
At her mention of the pins and needles, Devin’s touch gentled. “That’s actually a good sign—it can mean the nerves are starting to wake up. Healing isn’t always comfortable, but this is progress. I’ll give you a couple of stretches to help with the stiffness and circulation.” He looked up at her again, catching her smile for a moment longer than he should have.
