Travelling by foot was an arduous task, one that Fenris was used to, but after of spending hours traversing the streets of the Hive, he was beginning to become rather fatigued. Whilst he originally had no plans of stopping, he’d heard rumours of something interesting as he’d set about on his way. Some way to travel, a method of swift transportation that didn’t involve any sort of effort on the part of the traveller. A peculiar notion if you asked him, after all it seemed that the ways of getting around that he knew involved copious amounts of money, and time.
So standing at what was called ‘a train station’ stood the elf, keeping his distance from the others who were waiting. Yet as he stood there, awaiting this transport, he was rather taken aback by the sight of a large monstrosity, roaring as it drew to a stop before the crowd of people waiting. Metal groaned and strained as it pulled in, creating unmentionable noises that he’d liken to the clashing of blades.
“What manner of beast…?” He muttered to himself, a hand instinctively reaching for his wooden blade, readying himself for some sort of conflict. But as he took on a battle ready position, everyone around him remained calm, even readily stepping closer. Surely this wasn’t the transportation he’d heard of? It looked far too foreboding, too intricate to be anything but a danger. Unable to shake the nerves he was feeling at such a strange sight, he took an involuntarily step back, unknowingly stepping too close to a man just behind him, narrowly missing an outright collision. In fact, he barely noticed that he’d done as such, confusion clear to see on his features.
After all, how was someone who’d lived in a world far divided from modern technology meant to act in the face of such advancements?
