Nobody but a few other corrupt detectives and some members of the Golden Tears and X Academy knew of Mentari's true association, and he always had an excuse ready in case people did question why he was in places other Overseers might not normally be.

Having lunch with the CEO of X Academy for one.

He was simply discussing security, not at all talking about recent events and what he as an Overseer could do to further hide any hint of involvement from X.

"So far we've obscured any leads in the building that could've tied back to the Company," he said. "But I will need to delete files from the surveillance camera's, so I will need to know who visited the location when and how often." Despite the obvious power imbalance, Santi in charge of a billion dollar company, Mentari a detective, there was a commanding tone to Mentari's voice. He was exhausted.

Zakir could get away with coming to X ACADEMY mostly because of his augmentation, even if most didn't know about it, far fewer knew of his role as an informant for the Golden Tears. And he liked to keep it that way, it wasn't necessarily something he was proud of, just something he felt was needed. For his own benefit mostly. Something he felt ensnared in, caught up in, unable to get free off that easily. And perhaps he didn't have to.

So far nothing bad had happened.

Today he'd been called in mostly to do translation work. X was huge, a company of a size that he couldn't so quickly compare. And there was plenty of work for someone who knew enough languages. Even more so in New Jakarta.

He nodded in Santi's direction when the last of the clients walked out of the office. The work always filled him with exhaustion, but the good kind. "I'd say that went well... right?"

Veer hung out in the lobby of X Academy often. Less now that the Overseers were paying too close attention to the Slums and the posibility of finding the Grey Lilies, but he still used his time well: he would send up some lunch for Rasleen and take a quick peek before returning to the streets.

The only problem was that public transport was still out of order, and getting through the Mawar District to the Akumu Slums was harder now, but he'd make it on time. He still had a job to do. Getting friendly with some of the staff was high on that list, but not too high. He didn't need Rasleen to become a target should anything go wrong. He was careful.

The fact that he'd gotten close to the CEO was not surprising, when he'd been in prison, he'd also been besties with the prison director, who he figured had been very sad when Veer had escaped.
