VALENTINE STARTER for Prudence @proeliums
Cian didn’t date. At least not for any other reason than to further his own goals: either because his mother had wanted something or because he knew there was something to gain from the information he might acquire. And he certainly didn’t see anything that could come out of dating a coworker. It was a dangerous venture, a game that might leave him more hurt than anything else. But Cian was growing lonely, passing his twenties without the need for a companion, aside from meaningless one-night stands. He wanted something in his life, something to hold onto, another human being to hold in his arms.
Not that he thought Prudence would be that someone, but inviting her meant it was less of a terrifying step. He exhibited confidence, but when it came to the topic of dates, he wasn’t very confident. He walked the both of them towards the table he’d reserved and pulled her seat back for her to sit.
