“I’m pretty sure that the only way this whole, friendly neighbor situation is going to work, is if you’re actually friendly.” Silas got up from the chair on the balcony their two separate apartments happen to share.  He wasn’t one to talk about being friendly, he wasn’t even nice to people he knows.  He looked down at the person sitting beside him, then tipped his head to the side, “okay?”

“Alright so, this is a little awkward for me to ask, but uh,” Silas hesitated, “would you be up for going grocery shopping with me?” He nearly groaned the moment he finished that sentence. “I know, stupid question, but I’ve got to get out of the habit of eating like shit and when I get groceries it’s all frozen food so... what do you say?  Please?  Come on, I even said please.”

“Don;t think that... what happened the other night... actually worked on me” Silas said as he looked down at the half empty beer bottle in his hand. He then let it rest on the bartop and turned in the bar stool to look at the person beside him. “I don’t get jealous. Why don’t you know that by now?”

“So, what was it that you wanted again?” Silas didn’t care if he sounded rude, everyone who knew him was used to it by now and those who didn’t, would soon find out. Not like it was on purpose, it was just how he was wired. “This isn’t about that time I didn’t pay for your Uber right? Was that even you?”
