Memory Lane || Shane and Isla
@islayings
His plan had been to wine and dine her, take her out to some nice restaurant to chase whatever spark had been there when he’d visited her during the pageant. Was it just him? Was he the only one who still felt it? Before he’d been able to voice the desire to sweep her off her feet with a romantic outing, Isla had just assumed he’d be coming over to her apartment. And Shane...Shane who faced criminals and danger every day of his life...was too goddamn chicken to tell her otherwise.
Still that didn’t mean he had to show up looking casual. His hair was slicked back, a button up tucked into a pair of dark slacks. It was somewhere between casual and formal. With flowers clutched in his hand he knocked on the door and moved to adjust the too constricting tie. Wait...he wasn’t wearing a tie. The door opened and god...Isla was a vision...always...every time he saw her. “Hey,” he greeted, the lamest and most unimpressive greeting known to man. “You look beautiful.”
