Leo could always tell when Piper was hiding something, when she was burying some emotion deep within her by working on some menial task to keep herself distracted enough so she wouldn’t have to think about it, wouldn’t have to feel. But Leo didn’t want that for her, Leo always and solely wanted the truth, good or bad, because he’d do anything to make her happy, even if it meant destroying himself in the process. Placing the pieces PIper was cleaning as an excuse on the counter beside him, he put his hands on her shoulders and forced her to look him in the eye, knowing, if anything, that would get her to speak what was really on her mind. What had her up at four in the morning doing absolutely nothing of importance when they could instead be curled around one another in bed.Â
Of course that was still a lingering worry on her mind. Become a Whitelighter had been the greatest honor of his life, besides being allowed to marry a woman as perfect as Piper, but times like these he wished that he was strong enough to give up the cause just to make her happy. He knew that it was his own fault for allowing himself to get close to her, but once he’d fallen for her there was no going back and no ending that he deemed acceptable other than the two of them meeting in wedded bliss. “I don’t know Piper. I can’t read their minds, but I can tell you if they try to do that, I will do everything in my power to stop them. We’re married it’s--it’s kind of out of their hands now. I feel like if they didn’t want us married they would have found some way to stop it since they had before.” Exhausted eyes took in every inch of Piper’s expression, trying to get a good read on if what he was saying was sinking in. “Either way, being up at ungodly hours of the morning cleaning won’t stop them from doing what they want. You need your sleep, sweetheart.”Â
