“Huh? Kushina-sama, did I get something on me…?”
Sakura couldn’t help but be mollified when the Uzumaki acted with unexpected maternity towards her, something that mystified the kunoichi who couldn’t possibly garner the woman’s attention. Weren’t the Uzumaki like ninja royalty like a lot of other clans? Why would she bother with a lowly little nobody like her, even if she was on Naruto’s team? Choosing to hold her tongue instead, Sakura kept quiet and averted her eyes, too abashed to think of possibly offending the woman.
“Um… it won’t happen again. Sorry to have bothered you.”
Kushina’s smile is soft as she wipes Sakura’s face--- her maternal instincts kicking in at having seen the dirt on the girl’s face. Her head tilts to the side after she’s done, inspecting to make sure she’s got it all before saking her head at Sakura’s apology.
“It’s no bother at all! I guess I probably should’ve warned you first though.” She laughs nervously, a little embarrassed, hand raising to lightly scratch at her cheek as her gaze darts away, she hadn’t really thought about what she was doing, just hoping to help. After all, she saw Naruto’s team as practically her own kids, too. They were sweet children. Or, well--- Naruto and Sakura were sweet children. She soon settles again, giving Sakura a wide grin. “It was just a bit of dirt, but you’re all clean now, ttebane!”
