STARTER FOR @bachye
How to come forward and tell his best friend that he was alive again?
He couldn’t just show up on her doorstep, arms stretched out with a huge grin on his face, yelling “surprise”. No, he had to be cautious. He had already told her once before that he was… well dead, but she had not believed him; multiple “shut up”s was thrown his way and a lot of disbelief. Honestly, it had disappointed him, as he wanted to share his deepest secret with her as she had shared hers with him, but of course, something like that is not easy to accept for a regular person who will grow old one day.
God… he was so scared.
Firstly, he had tried to like a picture she had uploaded on social media, and he was pretty sure he had gotten a reaction as her next tweet had been a result of it. Liking that tweet too, probably caused her pain though, so, he regretted it almost immediately. Now that he had been living out in the streets for a few days, regaining energy after exposing himself to someone he also held dear, he stood in front of his previous home, rubbing his wrist, thinking of different scenarios he could give when she opened the door and saw him.
Secondly, anxiety boiled up in him even more as he reached out to knock on her door, frighten that she might close the door in his face or not want him around anymore like most of his other friends. He honestly didn’t know how he would cope with himself if she refused to be his friend again as well, at least he now had learnt that if you die, your friends with most likely not want you back.
In the end, he knocked on her door. Once, twice… and eventually stood there in the dark, hoping she had not gone to bed early; holding his breath unconsciously.
