Ethan had made quite a few bad decisions in his life time. Some he regretted, some he gave up on and moved on with life. The one that he regretted the most was never telling Reese how he felt about her. He’d always thought that all she wanted was a friends with benefits type of relationship. He’d be okay with that if that was all she wanted, but he couldn’t handle not having her in his life at all. It didn’t help that he had no idea why she’d left or where she’d gone. She just closed her shop and disappeared one day. It killed him. Since then, he’d searched every tattoo parlor that he could find, hoping that he might stumble upon her. So far he’d been unsuccessful, but he never gave up hope.
He was walking home from a particularly hard day one night, head down and shoulders hunched, when he spotted a woman in the distance that looked very familiar. His heart pounded in his chest as he picked up the pace, determined not to lose sight of her. As he got closer, he realize that there could be no mistake. After all of this time searching, he’d finally found her. Overcome with emotion, he opened his mouth to speak but froze when he realized that he wasn’t alone. A young toddler was clinging to her leg, and Ethan swore the child looked a lot like he did when he was that age. Happy but also confused, he approached her. “Reese...” he breathed, his voice catching in his throat.
