"have it your way," hannah finally spoke, a huff following her words. it's not as though she was trying to give him a hard time but it was just that she wasn't in the mood to go out after the day at word that she had. "i'll go but that means you're buying the boba." she spoke, pointing over at him. she had a hard time telling the few friends she did have, no. lucian just happened to be one of them. "and i might have to tack on some crab rangoons."

hannah can feel the butterflies forming in her stomach. it was finally happening. this was the moment she'd been waiting for. her entire face lit up at they approached her, eyes on theirs until she heard the words that fell from the other's lips. "oh," her smiled faltered and she rocked on her heels for a moment, "you want their number?"

escaping the amish life had been something she'd been thinking about for a couple of years but after denying her opportunity out at eighteen, she didn't think she'd have a chance. though, after planning things with her sister and moving across the country, she seemed to be getting and exploring everything it was that she wanted. she got a job that her parents would hate if they knew she was doing it and well, she couldn't bring herself to care. she was having entirely too much fun. she was finishing up her shift when one of her last customers bought her a drink. one of which she actually drank rather than faking it. that's when westley came into view. she couldn't help but smile, her bottom lip coming between her teeth. "you watching the clock or something?"

"come on! these flowers are basically free. if they're planted where people walk, then i don't see anything wrong with picking a few for my place." hannah didn't see it as a crime. it's not like she was helping herself to someone's house but just, the garden in front of the courthouse. "i mean, what are they going to do? arrest us? the flowers will grow back. we're basically, you know, recycling. we're getting rid of the old stuff so that we can use it for our own things and then new stuff will appear." at this point, she wasn't sure if she was trying to convince mahira or herself.

she leaned against the hot brick of the diner, the surface having been heated up but the sun beating on it all day. hannah just had the absolute worst day she'd had in a long time. pressing her hands against her face and shaking her head, a sigh left her lips. she dropped her hands from her face the moment she heard someone's footsteps approach, "don't worry. i'm okay." she reassured. though, she wasn't sure she was. "i just need a long, hot shower, a pint of ice cream, and to turn on celebrity big brother so that i can forget about the fact that a customer really just threw his food at me."

the waitress approached the table - her only table. it was late but the diner was open twenty four hours and so, there was usually at least one or two people hanging around at all hours. "so, you want the good news or the bad news?" she didn't really give her customer a chance to order, "the bad news is we're out of peach cobbler but the good news is that i just pulled a freshly baked apple pie out of the oven." she shifted, "what do you say? do you want a piece?"

"-you're kidding, right?" hannah asked, pausing only to pop a french fry in her mouth. "i mean you're not actually falling in love with the guy, are you?" it wasn't that she didn't like christian. in fact, hannah had never even met the guy but she just couldn't remember the last time violeta had seen a guy outside of the bedroom, especially not long term. "that's a bit different for you, isn't it? what about him changed your mind?"
