Disappearing Act || Theodore & Daphne
Everything was perfect for two weeks, but Daphne should have known that something would happen to throw a wrench in the machine of her life. After she had idly started packing her things in hopes of receiving an invitation to live with Bentley again, she learned that he had left on yet another business trip. Daphne couldn't fault him, of course -- he had a life and he was an extremely important part of a big business -- but she did reserve the right to feel disappointed by the way everything had turned out. If nothing else, she did take time to pout about the fact that she would be living with her temporary roommate for the foreseeable future.
Though the air of cabbage had dissipated around her living-space, Daphne still cringed every time she saw her roomie at the stove. It shouldn't have been surprising that she made an excuse to bolt to the office as soon as it was made evident that they would be having 'home-made soup! Your favorite!' for dinner, and -- from there -- Daphne made her way to Theodore's.Â
It took only a few minutes after stopping by her apartment to grab some clothes, her toothbrush, and minor necessities. Her roomie didn't even notice that she was in and out of the apartment in a matter of minutes, but Daphne hadn't said good-bye either -- such uncharacteristic behavior for a woman who was so cheerful. Then again, who could be cheerful all the time?Â
After making her way to Theodore's apartment without even bothering to mentally assess whether or not she was doing the right thing, Daphne rapped thrice on the door and -- if it was unlocked -- elected to let herself in.
"Hey! It's just me! I'm not a murderer." A beat passed, "Where are the cats?" Priorities.
