study cafe

Most students preferred attending cram schools. Some even went to study cafes so they could complete their homework and studies in silence while still surrounded by the pleasing atmosphere of a café. More often than not, young, studious students looking to get into a top tier university did not go to a regular café for their studies.
Cho Hyeyeon was not like most students. For starters, most high schoolers were not potentials with supernatural powers, and even amongst this miniscule population, most did not have the ability to enhance their own memory for personal benefit like Hyeyeon did. It made school an academic breeze, and at this point any public show of studying or doing homework was a pretense to uphold her studious image than to actually memorize the formulas and concepts. They were already ingrained into her memories.
Most days, the point of studying at a café was to reap the benefits of being favored by the baristas and staff. If she had to decide between going home to a dark, empty house or staying late in a café where she could get discounted snacks, it was easy to see where Hyeyeon would prefer. The door opened with a soft chime as the girl poked her head in before bouncing into the café and beaming at the counter. “Hakyeon-oppa! You’re working today?” Her eyes crinkled; her free arm excitedly waved while the other clung to the strap of her backpack. “What’s today’s special? If oppa is making it, I want it!”
