Days following the ball, Benny could feel it in his heart the heavy tension of unsaid words between his Cece and himself. Jealousy had raged within him when he saw Pax kiss her, clouding his judgment and hurting Cece in the process. It had been poorly dealt with. The strain in Cece’s smile told him so, tugging painfully at his conscious. Hadn’t he promised her he would honor and protect her? Surely, Pax had deserved every ounce of hell he had given him. But not Cecelia. Asking for the day off, he checked with Cece’s assistant for Her Royal Highness’ plans for the day. With the plan to convince her to take a break with him, he armed himself with coffee from Cece’s favorite coffee shop at hand to entice her. It didn’t hurt to also wear the jeans he suspected she favored for he had caught her staring at his backside numerous times. “Afternoon, ladies. I would say I am terribly sorry for interrupting but I managed to find myself with a spare cup of coffee and an inch for a walk.” With a cheeky smile, he turned to Cece and bend his head towards her. “I asked myself who would be the perfect walking companion and here you are. Hello sweetheart.” He kissed her cheek as he handed the cup. “I’ve come to rescue you from all royal duties you have for the day.”
