Description
Lieutenant Leonidas Wetmore was born in New York and entered the army from Missouri, as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 6th Infantry, December 31, 1839. He fought in the Mexican War and died 18 November, 1849.
The clothing Lt. Wetmore is wearing is traditional Cherokee clothing of brain tanned leather with thread embroidery. The set of clothes consists of a hunters caped frock coat, leggings, and pucker tow moccasins. The black strap across his chest is actually the strap for a beaded, wool bandolier bag. The design on the front of this strap would be different but complimenting than what is beaded on the back. However, Lieutenant Wetmore is wearing the bag on the wrong side of his body compared to how traditional Cherokee men would have worn the bag.

...and it's done! I've always wanted to embroider a flower wreath, and finally had an opportunity to do so 🌸🌷🌼🌻🌹🏵🌺
It took me about two hours to embroider these. I used an old t-shirt, and I'm glad I did so - it was hard to embroider on it, the fabric didn't want to stay in one place. Overall, though, I'm still happy with the result.
