It’s honestly so hard to try to put the experience into words - it was so incredible. It was also the most difficult thing I’ve ever done in my whole life. You meet such interesting people, or sit down and have meals with people you can’t even exchange ten words with. My favorite was a communal hostel where everyone cooked and ate at one table.
Sometimes you’d meet people, and then see them three days later, or even that night when they stopped at the same place to sleep. But what really struck me was the generosity of people - there were so many people who set out snacks and drinks for pilgrims. My friend Anna was even given a business card by a complete stranger with a number to call in case we needed help. And everyone was so friendly, wishing you ‘Buen Camino’ everywhere you go.
