Laws of Attraction | Poppy & Cat
Frankly speaking, bars were one of the few places that Cathiele felt completely and entirely comfortable - anonymity reigned, and for the most part, no set rules and guidelines were in place. A recluse had just as much right to remaining as an extrovert, sexual deviants and the sexually repulsed were equally welcome, and short of illegal activity set out in the open and gross displays of indecency, most people didn’t care what happened. Backgrounds were the same across the board unless details were shared. and for those who happened to be attractive - with or without the help of alcohol - there was an added bonus that came in the form of drunken praise. For Cat, it was a good place.
With a slight smile, the brunette wandered to the counter and settled in an open seat, her hands coming to rest against the counter. This particular establishment was a new one for her, and given that, the bartenders were of more interest than the customers - a bar could only be worthwhile if one could see themselves interacting with the staff, after all, and the woman who stood behind the counter - all flawlessly browned skin and charming smiles - was definitely drawing her in.
“Hi! Can I have… mm… Two appletinis, please? One with around a mouthful of alcohol and the other full.” As she spoke, her gaze wandered, pulling around the bar and in search of something unseen. When she’d found whatever - or whoever - she was looking for, she shifted enough to flash a small smile at the woman. “The half-filled one first, then the second one over.” Her voice betrayed nothing, but there was something slightly mischievous in her gaze. It was enough, anyhow, to cause her freckled cheeks to brighten slightly, the amusement in them clear.
