hell you can even get into different angles with their dynamic, like sirius being a softie who melts for rudolf when she finally takes something she wants or being a total tease who causes rudolf to squirm for her attention

dantsu is so clearly a girl who had to grow up very, very young. her profile and character story talks about how her family are 'professionals at packing moving boxes' and how her father moved them for work. she's got this sunny big sister vibe but she also seems like she had to put others first, a little bit parentified. i wonder if she had siblings she had to step up for.

people push her around and it’s at least in part bc she’s never had an opportunity to be confident in not giving herself up to others. she’s so used to just going along that she probably barely knows her own interests and desires, besides racing of course, where she can’t even excel due to her insane competition.

and yet she desires so desperately to be the ‘leading star’. to be a main character, not the supporting role, to be a teenage girl who will be remembered for her own merits and not what she gives to others. she’s lonely but she’ll never be forgotten again if only she can be the one they all love.

then we add tachyon to the mix. tachyon, who could have been one of the greatest, who didn’t get that, who feared breaking so irreparably despite her purest desire for speed that she ran away from everything she loved.

most people would look at her generation and just see JAM. not tachyon. she knows dantsu too has the potential, the drive, the fire within her to excel. any of the three could be plan b.

but there’s one other thing that connects them - that all-consuming loneliness, that drive to be better, that drive to be remembered for more than a news cycle.

tachyon sees through dantsu. she’s not just some trendy girl who is gentle and kind. she has a gnawing hunger to be real, to be loved, to not be a blurry mess of a person.

and tachyon feels a kinship that both fascinates and scares her. one she has trouble avoiding poking deeper into, despite the potential for disaster.
