Keep in mind i started this project around 2022. When i frist started it was with the help of Jelly who is canadian. At the time i asked Jelly to help with Thomas Etok as a charcter,(since they live on the country i assumed they would know more than me!) It was a hard draft for the character but they asked for the character to be named Muktuk. I didn't mind much since how they got the name made sense story wise, given that he is not human but a selkie and their parents with very close with the Etok family ,later even being adopted by them .Muktuk or Maqtaq for those who don't know is a tradional inuit dish which is whale blubber.

Since then i tried to find anything census, websites or any related media that could confirn the ussage of the term as someone's name but to no avail have i find proof of it Soo i decided to change the character's guppy name. Same as i would not name any my characters as food Thomas is the same.

Thomas is the name that was given to him after a young familiar of the Etok's sadly took their live by circumstances sorrounding their life and as i read its accostumed to give names of deaceased familiar to carry on with their spirit.

and for now they will remain as Thomas until i find a name that i feel that connect with the character.

Kind of a long rant sorry but as a historian and from latin america the importance of showing realness or at least truthness in my works is important to me!
