A little Damie sketch π₯° available on inprnt
dani clayton and jamie taylor clayton in the haunting of bly manor (2020)
dani and jamieβs love was one of the best things i got to witness on tv this year, please let this type of representation prevail, and not only come to us once in a goddam blue moon.
Nothing much just Jamie and Dani eyeing each other longingly and lovingly throughout the season πβ€οΈ
Watching Bly Manor multiple times helped me observe the way Dani's lips tremble with smile or nervousness. It's just this subtle movement of her lips which makes me think what a wonderful actress Victoria is! Her acting, her walk and her accent in the show was just on point and gave so much of added personality to Dani.
Like in this scene when Jamie comforts Dani by saying that they can take it one day at a time. Look at her eyes, her lips. I cannot stop thinking about them π₯Ίπ©

3am bly manor thoughts...
Peter tricked Rebecca and drowned her just so that he can be with her but Dani didn't even attempt to take Jamie down with her even when she willingly asked her to.
Miles never got a chance to keep Dani in his life since he doesn't remember her. (Remember when Dani tells him that it's up to him whether or not he wants to keep a grown-up in his life)
Flora will never remember the au pair who sacrificed herself.
Jamie never knew that the last night she spent next to Dani would be their last night ever. Would she remember their last kiss? Their last hug? The last time they made love? Their last conversation? Their last laughter?
Jamie would never be able to marry the love of her life.
Jamie never removed the ring that Dani gave her and she never opened her heart.
Dani was never able to see her reflection without being haunted by her past or by her future.
Rebecca never got a chance to become a barrister.
Henry was never able to make amends with his brother. He probably couldn't even tell Flora that he is her father.
Owen and Hannah never got a chance at their love much less confess their love.
Mike Flanagan literally gave us 4 love stories in a span of 9 episodes. Peter and Rebecca toxic love, Jamie and Dani selfless love, Hanna and Owen unsaid love, Henry and Charlotte forbidden love.
Someday please tell me stop or I won't stop thinking about and crying over this show!!! π«
I am not okay after the realising the fact that throughout the flashback older Jamie kept referring to Dani as the "au pair". Never took her name. Just like how she called herself "the gardener" but at the end she did take her name - "but the lady in the lake was different now. The lady in the lake was also Dani. And Dani wouldn't. Dani would never".
I do believe that she chose to do that in the hope that it would somehow make the children remember. Not entirely but deep within their hearts.. somewhere, something would click which would give them this feeling of warmth inside. Make the story a whole lot more personal. They wouldn't understand why the name Dani feels so close to them. Why are they picturing a woman with blonde hair, smiling widely, tucking in their younger selves. I do want to believe that they did get this feeling in the end and that Dani is not just forgotten.
I feel Carla Gugino is so underrated in THOBM. Just look at her expressions in these. Her eyes speak so much louder than the dialogues can ever can. And there is no one that could do justice to older Jamie's character. The pain, the longing for Dani is so evident in her eyes. I didn't have the heart to watch the last episode again but yesterday I did and when I saw the part where she is comforting Flora when she is worried about living without her love by her side, the advise she gives is exactly what she did after losing Dani. She did exactly those things when she spent those 13 years with Dani. She didn't let their fear of the future affect their present. They lived and they loved and made the most of those 13 years. And to think she had to relive everything over again just breaks my heart. I think she decided to finally tell Dani's story after all those years was because she knew that children forgetting her was not fair. I know they didn't choose to forget her but Dani sacrificed her life without knowing what it would cost in that moment. She didn't get to grow old with the love of her life. And that was injustice enough to her memories and Jamie wanted Dani to be heard, to be known and to be remembered.
The Haunting of Bly Manor
Leaving the only trace of who she once was in the memory of the woman who loved her most
