â â There was just this something about the man standing mere feet away from her, busy doing whatever. She could exactly put her finger on it but it drew her towards him, she always had an eye for all that was.. different, in a good or a bad way, now she didnât know enough about this particular male to decide whether this was a good different or a bad one, but she was intending to find out. And so her shameless self, made her way over to the tall individual, eyeing him up and down as she stood there, in front of him. âExcuse me?â She spoke in a kind tone. âAre you busy?â

âeveryone needs my help.â it was just a statement, pure with not a drop of arrogance. âespecially if they find themselves on my doorstep. something is troubling you, even if you donât know it. something primal in you does.âÂ
florin forces a smile to his face and shakes his head -- so, things might not be ideal for him right now, but itâs not like he isnât capable of dealing with it on his own. he isnât someone who typically likes to burden other people with the bigger issues he has, and prefers to just play it off like itâs nothing. if he knows what that something is, whatever is troubling him, he wonât likely say it. âfunny. you assume iâm in desperate need of your help just because i stopped by to say hi?â

He waits in the darkest corner of the room, a black cat purring contently in his lap as he strokes it slowly between the ears, golden eyes trained on the slumbering figure lying in the bed, perhaps sleeping, perhaps not, for the rise and fall of their chest is not one that resembles that of a normal human, and he can sense the abnormality in the strangerâs presence, perhaps that being the reason why Yifan sits here tonight, to investigate, for it had been centuries since he had seen another non-human such as himself.
Thereâs another reason why heâs here as well. Slowly, he hoists himself from the chair in the corner, the cat meowing softly, landing on the floor silently as he crosses the room with equal finesse until heâs standing at the edge of the bed, the air around them changing into a suffocating weight that affects Yifan none, for he was the one to bring the force down upon the other to paralyze him in his sleep, even if he hadnât drifted off, the only exception being his eyes and conscious mind as the snow-haired man lowers himself to sit beside the latter, a large, barely grazing hand gliding up the lithe figure laying in the bed, his touch barely heavier than air.
His hand floats up the maleâs figure until heâs carefully cupping the otherâs cheek, Yifan staring solemnly into the face of someone he had known once upon a time ago, this is not that man, but the resemblance is uncanny and the incubusâ icy heart trembles just the slightest bit at the sight he had dreamed of for years, soaking in the sight of the other manâs lashes casting long-reaching shadows across his undewed cheeks in the moonlight, Yifan staring at the perfectly sculpted visage beneath him, from the long, tanned column of throat that led to an immaculately sharp jawline, the very things the incubus cranes down and mouths at, flat lips pressing to cool skin, trailing up the strangerâs neck and jaw until he fully captures the otherâs mouth with his own, compelled by a little more than just his salacious hunger.Â

When the day began without Myungsoo trying to wake him up through curses and kicks, Kibum got suspicious about it. He told this to his Parabatai, but only earned a snort in result. Myungsoo had said sometimes he worried too much, but as the weeks passed with endless hours of training, Kibum was becoming more and more dependent of his instincts.
âHey, Kim!â One of his comrades, Im Sanghyun, exclaimed as he ran to catch up with him at the Instituteâs entrance. âDirector Lee said he will need Myungsoo and Hyeri for the afternoon so they will miss the practice in the hidden forests today. Can you pass the word to professor Kuroishi?â
âReally?â he said, bow-shaped lips forming a small pout. âYeah, I will tell him. Thanks.â
Kibum turned to resume his walking, both hands stuffed into the pockets of his jacket while his bow remained secured to his back along with some arrows. If Myungsoo wasnât coming, then that meant he would be forced to use his seraph blade. His stomach flipped at the idea and his shoulders slumped when he took notice of the rest of the Shadowhunters already at the backyard of the Institute.
The portal was already opened, he realized with some curiosity, eyes taking notice of the Warlock with a nice orangey-skin and pretty blue eyes. Kibum bowed his head slightly in the warlockâs direction which earned him a tilt of the head and the ghost of a smile showing in the corners of the warlockâs eyes and lips. Kibum then took notice of the general vibes of the the youngest Nephilim and how even some of the eldest seemed to want to keep their distance from the Downworlder. He sighed.
âYou better have your weapons in hand,â professor Lee warned with a stern, gruffly tone. âThe training begins the moment you are about to have a foot in the forest. That means no games.â
Kibum sniffed as he took out his blade and named it âBarielâ. His blade flared up while the rest of the Nephilim convoked the angelsâ names for their blades too. Their skin glowed with the silver marks of the runes for stamina, speed and strength, always a lovely contrast with the black of their gears, or so Kibum thought as he moved to enter the portal.
That was his first mistake. When Haneul and he stepped into the portal, it closed suddenly. Kibumâs relaxation left as soon as a series of howls rang in his ears. Haneul moved so they were pressed back to back, the seraph blades ready in their hands as they assessed the situation.
âIt was a trap, a set-up probably prepared by that Warlock,â Haneul said, her voice laced with venom.
"Watch out,â he said as soon as he felt the shift of energy coming from the left.
Haneul and he split when the long, needle-tipped-tail of a Scorpius demon darted towards them. Kibum didnât have time to take a breath before the creature sped up in his direction while another came out to get Haneul. Kibum dodged the attacks with difficulty since they were surrounded by trees. To his right, he could perceive his comrades moving around trying to get rid of the hellhounds. To his left, there were three young Shadowhunters dealing with two Elapid demons.
He was scared. The rest of the Nephilim had stayed behind and they were not nearly enough to face the Scorpius demons he could feel approaching to where they were. The smell of blood was also heavy in the air, and after not feeling the presence of three of the oldest Shadowhunters that were supposed to be there waiting, Kibum assumed the worst. He climbed a tree as fast as he could, the Scorpius demon hot at his heels. The half-angel then jumped from the tree and after dodging another lethal attack from the demonâs tail, he darted forward to slash off the demonâs tail. The screech the demon let out almost made him lose his balance, but when it got on its feet, Kibum took advantage and sank his blade into the creatureâs chest and then slashed it into a half. The smell of burned garbage reached his nostrils, but he didnât have much time to think about a way to call for help. Soon, two hellhounds were running towards him.

He really would have preferred to just eat hot pockets and return back home, but he knew that getting the snack had just been him postponing the feared visit to the shop and that his Dad would send him right back again if he came without a consultation. The half-eaten snack in his hands, he entered, ducking his head. His appetite suddenly disappeared and he fumbled the package close to shove the warm bit of food into the pocket of his coat. âHello? I- Iâm sorry I came without an appointment.... â A small wave of fear hit him - because maybe the medium would feel that he didnât come here on his own accord and that he was pushed into coming. It was quite urgent, but if Tao was cursed, he didnât want to know. The dark shadows under his eyes were a standard for him, but lately he didnât catch much sleep at all, so he always had to slap on an extra bit of concealer in case paparazzi snapped pictures whereever he went. It was just because his father noticed the lack of sleep and the night terrors that he forced him to visit the shop. He said that if any bad spirits were dwelling on him, the medium would know. âI can leave if itâs bad timing.â

{ â } Â Micah seriously needs to stop failing getting his driving license. The constant disappointment of his outcome on every test was beginning to take a toll on him. Fatigue â that is what all this is about.Tired of taking the public transportation. If only the bus wasnât the major conveyance in the neighborhood, he wouldnât be complaining so much. Not to mention the only public vehicle he could afford as of now with his monthly scholarship was the bus anyway.
Once boarded, he scanned for an empty seat and struck luck when one at the back was vacant. Fixing the leather backpack for better support, he made his way to the targeted spot and came across an unfamiliar figure which caused him to a pregnant pause. â Um, is this seat taken? â the irrelevance of the question was rather embarrassing. Perhaps it was just another day where he felt obliged to be polite.
