It had been four years since he had left with all four of the sacred swords, thus leading to himself, Red, and Blue, living, rather than being sealed back into the sword to be reunited with Green- the self proclaimed ‘original Link.’ Four years since he had begun exploring the realm, unlocking the secrets of dungeons- discovering new levels of the past. Four years of solitude with only his voice filling the silence the followed after him like a plague. Every turn was an adventure, every dungeon was a new challenge- one that also helped him hide each and every sword in a different location- but the rewards he reaped from it were irreplaceable.
Currently, he held one of them in his hand- a black sword to be precise. One he had gotten a good number of months ago off when he placed the last sword deep within the confines of a chamber that was only accessible to him. He didn’t know how he came upon the room the sword was located in, but after he had hidden away the swords, he was left with no blade to help him in tight situations. Naturally, he had taken it this from its place.
Vio sighed and ran his hand through his blond hair as he entered into another dungeon- or temple, as he would like to call this one. It was overgrown… to the point that using the blade was necessary to get through thick vines and small trees that blocked his path.
“I cannot help but wonder how long this place has been unattended…” Vio muttered to himself. It was honestly by chance that he found this place… he had originally thought it was nothing more than a hill until he came to realize his footsteps, as he walked over it, sounded like they were walking against something hollow. He had investigated a fair deal and with a lot of cutting down on the overgrowth before he came upon the place he was traveling deeper into now. At least the luminescent mushrooms lighted his path enough for him not to need to waste his lantern fluid. He really needed to research their qualities- the mushrooms that is… to never need lantern fluid would be a blessing.
“It makes you wonder how old this place is… For it to be so intricate yet overgrown that, walking along a path, this place is nearly invisible to those who are not looking.” He chuckled to himself and nudged a mushroom to life in passing. “The doors hardly even function as doors anymore…”

Sheik carefully toweled his hair, trying to avoid hitting his ears, but was met with little luck. A hiss left him, and he decided his hair was dry enough even if it still dripped a bit. His ears really did look something awful and Sheik couldn't help but stare at them again in the mirror as he secured the towel around his waist. There were seven earrings in total, and now there were seven wounds where they had been ripped out, wounds that no one was allowed to heal for him. With a light touch he dabbed a wet cloth on them before dressing the still quite fresh injuries. However he couldn't complain. Compared to the various other punishments he could have received, this was nothing.
He'd lost his rank and privileges, and there was an amount of shunning he simply had to take without retaliation, but all things considered he was okay with that. He did deserve it after all. He was a traitor and the time his wounds took to heal was the time he was to use to reflect before he could begin to redeem himself, and there was a lot he had to redeem. Or at least that was what he was supposed to be doing with his time. Of course, maybe the reason he was so grateful for this sentence was because although he had admitted to consorting with the enemy, giving away restricted information, and breaking the extremely important rule of not telling people how to find the village ; he had left out the finest detail.
Nobody knew and nobody needed to know. He owed Ghirahim this much. He turned his life upside down. So when he was certain no one would hear him, he broke the news he had tried to say before in hopes of gaining the man's forgiveness. Hoping then that forgiveness would still be awaiting him. The reason the demon lord couldn't resurrect Demise, was because Demise was already alive. Surely he'd be dead if his tribe knew he'd told the man that.
Slowly he made his way back to his room, keeping one hand to the wall for support. His muscles still ached with only minor activity, but he could get around now and it was much welcomed after having been bedridden. Even so he took a seat on the edge of his bed, allowing himself to fall back and rest a moment before dressing. He had been laying there for some time before the light knock pricked his ears and pulled him from the edge of sleep he hadn't realized he was edging toward. "Door's open" he called as he sat up slightly to rub the sleep from his eyes.
Boot-clad feet carefully stepped onto the tightrope, while the blond teen's arms stretched out to help balance himself as he walked across the black abyss below him. His movements were more than precise; everything was thought out to the fullest, and he keep his light lavender eyes trained on the rope. It was silly to fear things like heights. After all, death would all befall them one day, why dwell on fear when death would most likely come up unexpected? At least, that was his take on things. While he knew a healthy dose of fear kept people from doing stupid stunts, he also knew that if he did not face the challenges, he would not gain what he had come looking for: knowledge.
The surface was a forbidden place for obvious reasons; if the monsters he encountered were anything to go by. Fortunately for him, none seemed intelligent enough, thus far, to properly challenge his thinking. All were violent and wanted to wipe him from the face of the forbidden lands, but he was stubborn, calm, and collected. He took every challenge easily, never tiring himself out just in case more lied ahead. He rested often through out the journey to the point where he was at now, and because of his careful demeanor, he had avoided injuries of all kinds. He was a firm believer in slow and steady wins the race- which, in this case, was more like careful and precise, keeps his life.
Perhaps he was looking too far into it but perhaps not.
Silently, he stepped onto solid ground and walked over to the wall to the side of the massive door to slowly slid down it. Everything was calm now... (he prided himself thus far for cleaning the dungeon of all living beings) and it was the perfect opportunity to rest and tend important matters like reviewing his findings, which just so happened to be the beetle (a curious item, admittedly), and some type of puzzle that he had little doubts would open the door next to him.
He glanced up at the sword spirit as she appeared in front, informing him that if they wanted to get to Zelda, they should proceed through the door way as soon as possible. The purple clad teen paid little mind to the light nagging, simply countering with a soft, “Resting frequently prevents fatigue. If a threat lies beyond that door, I will stand little chance if too exhausted.”
Fi seemed to accept his answer, nodding once with a “Yes Master Green's brother,” before slipping back into the sword, silent as before.
He did not feel guilty to the obvious jab that Fi pressed into him about him stealing the sword his identical-twin brother had claimed. Why should he? He knew his brother's attempts to save his- their- childhood friend were noble, but running to the surface unprepared would have been instant death. Plus, how could he possibly pass up the chance to finally be able to see the new place that was finally open to him?
Nimble fingers rotated the puzzle back and forth, finding the intricate designs on the piece positively fascinating. Each block had a different design carved into the golden blocks. It was heavy in his hands, but he didn't care.
This was all very fun to him. There was finally a challenge to all of this. Everything here was different, much different from what the ancient tomes described- then again, everything was grown over. Roots protruded from stone walls and trees bigger than Skyloft existed just outside the temple. Colorful plants and new species roamed the forsaken land- it was positively the greatest place Vio had ever ventured. He was finally off that damned island in the sky- in a place that would prove to provide him with what he wanted.
The only downside was the fact that Fi was insistent on saving his brother's girlfriend. Perhaps girlfriend was too intimate a term, but maybe not. Either way, he was here, in his brother's place.
The Knight slid out of bed, fully dressed as he listened to his brother's breathing evening out. The previous day's events were stressful for him. He had, after all, lost Zelda, their childhood friend, to a peculiar tornado that ripped through their white terrain of clouds. All three of his brothers (Blue, Green, and Red), had been devastated, all wanting to run head first into danger, but the elders of Skyloft held them back.
Green had been on a flight, with his love interest in celebration for finally stepping into Knighthood earlier that day, when the disaster befell them. Violet had been reading a yellowed-with-age book of the lands below when the sight had made him cast his gaze just in time for him to see Blue making a mad dash to save Green from the same fate the girl had gotten.
Needless to say, the unconscious form of his brother, Green, had been transferred back to their room shortly after the incident. It took a bit of convincing, but he was able to get the others to leave leave only when he had promised to inform them when Green looked close to waking.
From there, already knowing his brother's plan to possible go below the clouds to save Zelda, the book-smart teen formulated a plan. Before long, he had packed essential items into a pouches that had magical qualities, before setting them under his bed for easy access as well as a shield.
Soon after Green had awoke and Zelda's father questioned him before leaving them to their own devices, Green had exited the room only to follow after an unearthly spirit. Needless to say, after following the two and eavesdropping on the whole entire hero conversation and acceptance of the Holy Sword did Vio come to the conclusion that he needed that sword if he wanted to get down the surface.
The promise of knowledge to his insatiable self was addicting and oh so thrilling. He had long since grown tired of being here on the island that only had so many books and tomes to learn from. Now that a new world was opening up to him, the only key that was not in his possession was the sword Green was granted to wield. For years, Violet longed to break through the impenetrable clouds, and he was going to do it- without his brothers to slow him down or rush him.
He didn't care for Zelda like Blue, Red, and Green did. All he cared for was the knowledge of everything- an impossible thing that he would still strive to obtain- even if new information rose day by day.
His mind made up, he geared up five minutes after his green-eyed brother had drifted off to sleep to recover some energy, before snatching up the Goddess' sword as well as his previously packed things before departing as quickly as possible.
Fi had not been pleased to say the least, but she accepted him as a temporary owner since himself and Green had the same blood running through their veins. It was from there that they both ventured through Faron, analyzing the area and helping seal the odd stake back into the ground that reeked of cursed aura.
The Sword Spirit pressed him time and time again to quicken his pace to get to the 'Spirit Maiden' but he did not. Over and over, he chided her that quality was rated over quantity- or in this case, efficient methods over the amount of time spent.
Soon after landing in the forsaken lands, he met with a disapproving old lady- one of which was very against him being there, but he paid little mind to her stern mannerism as she granted him the way into the woods.
Needless to say, with a little under a week, he had made it to the very location he was at now- taking his precious time with absolutely everything. Rushing into things was asking to be killed. Had he been mortally injured, he would have no way of contacting others after all.
He stood up once more and rolled his shoulders, not at all surprised when one joint popped softly enough to break the silence. The puzzle that rested in his hands was ready to be placed into the door. Idly, he tapped his foot lightly on the ground, making the numbing-needles go away before reaching up and lightly pushing the key into the slot.
It roared to life as he stepped back and he watched as the ancient lock spun for a few moments before hundreds of locks unbolted at once and grinded open. Lavender eyes trained themselves on the heavy door before he took a deep breath and pushed the doors forward, stepping into the dimly lit room that reeked of the same dark aura that the seal did in the sacred grounds.
His body was as tense as a bow's string as he took in his surroundings, the mask on his face showed nothing but indifference even if the darkness sent shivers up his spine and made the hair on his arm stand up on end.
On the other side of the room rested a door that glowed with the same holy force and markings that previously locked the run down temple. He knew from just one glance that Zelda was beyond that door. Carefully, he stepped into the light, but from there, he stayed motionless, simply waiting in the silence that clawed painfully up his rigid body.

What was truly bothersome was the invitation to sit. Yes, that was what made him do that absurd smiling thing again. It wasn't a smirk, it wasn't bitter, it was just a smile. He found himself amused by it. Sit if you'd like, as if this were a house. As if there was a sofa, as if this were his home.
"I was inclined to think magic potions were more instant. I wouldn't know, I have not tried one. Then again, if your face is any indication then I don't believe I would like to." No, that face had been one of displeasure... that was certain.
ShadowShroudedGuardian:
"They can be. This one is a more all-purpose one. And it isn't too bad, just bitter." Sheik said, a yawn tacking itself onto the end of his sentence. The potion was having something of a relaxing effect, no quite a sedative, but still a calm persuasion to sleep. "It might be a tad difficult to wake me up if the need arises." However he sincerly hoped that such a need would not.
ThisRedThread:
To Ghirahim that meant very little. He didn't suspect the need would arise. The fact that Sheik was sleeping was beneficial to his health. The whole talk seemed unnecessary. For whatever reason, unnecessary conversation had snuck into his life a lot lately. He was sure that small talk was becoming a pastime.
"Sleep well." he murmured, and decided then and there that he did nto want to sit, and that he would keep a fair watch. He didn't want to have to wake him, after all... That would be to admit he couldn't protect one silly sheikah on his own.
ShadowShroudedGuardian:
It was something of a hazy sleep, not quite dreams, but not quite the black void of unconsciousness. He felt pleasantly warm, a feeling that brought a certain safety, reminiscent of the place he called home, but nothing more than a fog of blended shapes that seemed to dissipate and reform as soon as any attempt to register them was made. In reality many hours had already passed by, but time stood still for the blonde. Slowly though and then all too suddenly the air in his dream world began to grow heavy and the once warm breeze died down, leaving only a draft in its place. The shift to malcontent even managed to surface outside his mind as his body tossed to curl further into his cloak and his brows knitted in an unidentified frustration.
