been seeing this trend at least on tiktok where it’s like “transfem vs transmasc transition goals be like” and then for transfem it’s most beautiful girl ever and for transmasc its like some random kinda ugly guy. and the trend is funny and a lot of people confirm it but i’m wondering if there may be some underlying reason that that is that ties into transmisogyny like trans women having to be the best of the best to get any respect, or something.

i don’t really see how TERFs hate trans women and not all men. like, they see trans women as men, they hate them for being trans and for being men. they aren’t secretly gender affirming. they hate trans women because they see them as male invaders but they still see them as men. i’ve heard “well TERFS work with cis men but not trans women” but cis men are more willing to work with TERFs where trans women wouldnt, that’s why.

transfems are oppressed for being women and being trans. transmascs are oppressed for being trans and having vaginas and female socialization. to try to figure out “which is worse” or to deny one’s existence is as silly as trying to figure out “which is worse, homophobia and racism or misogyny and homophobia” they are both intersections.

misandry is in fact real even if not systemic and we should fight it. it affects trans men and transmascs more than anyone else but you ain’t ready for that conversation.
