Although Ruby was a stranger to this kid, even she could tell right away that something about him was... unnerving. Was it the lines on his face? The hatred she could see in those eyes..? Whatever it was, the Gem clearly had the chills just looking at him, which was an impressive feat given that Ruby was more known for her explosive anger rather than any sort of cold fear.
Still, as many bad vibes as she was getting, she didn’t think it would be right of her to just... judge a book by it’s cover like that. After all, she had already seen plenty of bizarre people around here, and even a lot of the weirder-looking ones seemed to actually be quite kind. Maybe he was the same way. Also, she was kind of lost, since she had been running around blindly instead of taking in everything she had been seeing for the last week. Maybe he knew some directions, too.
“Uh, excuse me! Do you have a map? Or know where I could find one?”
