don't judge a book by its cover, repeated everyone around him. you never know; each person may be different. he'd heard it all before. unfortunately, most of said words came from his own family. they were all about giving others a shot. it was all about giving them a chance to prove their innocence. if only he felt the same in return; though, to his defense, he wasn't really judging this one by her cover, rather her last name. she seemed innocent, almost like she wouldn't hurt a fly -- seemingly, all the argents managed to pull that one off; however, they all remained strong, built soldiers. it was only natural that his guard almost immediately went up upon accidental contact with the argent. he made a face of disgust, hoping it'd go unnoticed. in just a barely audible mumble ----- ❝ my apologies. ❞
