“so i was thinking we could do something a bit more traditional next week?” she began, tapping her fingers mindlessly along her lap as she thought to herself. “dinner and a movie, maybe?” quinn wasn’t the kind of girl who needed a lot to make her happy. she wasn’t afraid to admit that she could be a bit simple at times, but given caleb’s past, she figured that was exactly what he needed. life outside of dating had been complicated enough. work was absolutely dreadful, her superiors doing their very best to remind her of her lower status any chance they could. and her mother? well she seemed to have lost it the moment quinn announced that she would be working for the mcneils. suffice to say, she would take whatever bit of peace she could get.
but was that what this was? peace? quinn often overlooked the idea that perception mattered. just because she saw things one way, didn’t mean others did as well. caleb seemed more distracted than lately and a part of her couldn’t help but wonder if it’d been her. “everything okay?” she called out, raising a brow as she scooted closer to the other. “i thought you’d be happy to know i’m actually willing to sit through more than two hours of superheros fighting.” she joked with a laugh.
