#this is everything!!

I was messaging some friends recently and said “if i had a nickel for every time i’d written about an immortal getting trapped in an iron coffin i’d have two nickels, which isn’t very many but it’s interesting that it happened twice” and it’s true, it’s interesting that it’s happened twice because I think there’s something to be said about writing a character going through the worst possible torment you can imagine and then writing them getting found and brought back to the surface, the sunlight, and having everyone else take care of them afterward.  It’s very good for the soul, I think, to just... do that every once in a while.  Like idk... hurt/comfort is a theme in my writing and I think it’s just because I know what it feels like to hurt but I wasn’t always comforted during/afterward so I’m reaching back in time to the me who was hurting and saying look, see, here’s the comfort you deserved.  It’s very cathartic, and I think everyone deserves a little piece of that.
