Currently Reading: i havent read a real Thing for joy in a while, last read is actually a 350 page study guide but over the summer i read the murderbot diaries which were fantastic (also omg! ur reading the expanse series?? i love the show havent got the time rn to read the books but they are on my to read list!)

Currently Watching: the new legend of the monkey (netflix) and rewatching remington steele

Currently Consuming: nothing, did just eat some peanut m&ms tho

Currently Craving: food wise? a warm cup of tea and something unhealthy like fried food overall? to get out of my unpaid “internship” and get a paying job or at least some honestly from the admin

Okay, I was not expecting to get more so I was absolutely thrilled, the Sick!Ahsoka snippet was great and heartwarming... but THEN you go and hit me with THAT and now ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT IS SITH!OBI WITH HIS APPRENTICE AHSOKA AND I HAVE NEVER NEEDED ANYTHING IN MY LIFE AS MUCH AS THAT HOLY SHIT

Yeah, Anakin isn’t handling it well emotionally but he is handling it well thanks to thinking about his mom. Bonding! Sort of! WHEN TEAPIRATE POSTED ALL OF THAT I LOST MY MIND SO JOIN ME IN THE PIT OF DESPAIR.

“And how do you feel, now that you wield a lightsaber?”

Ahsoka’s head tilted as she considered, a smile coming to her face as she answered, “Confident. Powerful.”

“Oh,” Obi-Wan asked, twisting her crystal to catch the light one more time before pocketing it and throwing the empty hilt to her.

“Hey!”

His smile turned deadly; this would be a good lesson. “Does it not make you powerful?”

“It’s not really a lightsaber without a crystal!”

Obi-Wan sent a blast of lightning, forcing her to dodge before swiping with his saber. The black blade barely missing her, a small puff of smoke and the stench of singed leather the only sign of how close it had really been. He twisted the blade again, just enough to make her roll backwards to avoid the hit. She crouched slightly, hilt still in hand and eyes trained on him.

“Defend yourself Apprentice.”

“With what?!”

He would not tolerate such insolence or stupidity. The blows came faster, less telegraphed as he pulled more and more with his powers. Ahsoka snarled as a chair clipped her shoulder and he pounced to keep her kneeling. Pushing his blade close to her neck, holding it there until he heard her whimper with pain. Disappointing.

“Perhaps I made myself unclear, or perhaps I have placed my faith incorrectly. Why did you not fight back?”

“Fight back with what?” There was anger there, at him, at herself. There was also confusion.

Stars she is so...young.

Obi-Wan didn’t soften his stance or his voice as that thought washed over him. She’s still so damned young.

“Are you not Sith? Are you not Jedi? Do you have no skills besides one very fancy toy?”

Ah, there at last was the shame.

“Yes Master, I...I forgot.”

“Clearly.” Obi-Wan pulled her crystal back out and checked it carefully. It wouldn’t do for darkness to have infected it already, that would just put Drallig on alert. He dropped it at his feet. “Meditate on this failure, and consider what punishment is fitting. Though we are out of time today, we are not finished.”

She cringed as she picked it up, holding it close to her chest like a child would a comfort blanket. He would need to break her of that. “Yes Master.”

He slowly stepped aside, but made sure to keep his glare locked on her as Ahsoka stood and limped to his office door.

“Apprentice.”

“Yes Master?”

“You failed me today. Do not fail me again.”

She bowed her head before straightening, masking her injuries as best she could and tugging her tunic up to hide the burn on her neck before leaving his office. Obi-Wan took a few minutes to pull all his possessions back into place. Tidying up and slowly moving to sit at his desk. He was furious with her and rightly so. He was furious with the Jedi who failed to teach her beyond basic physical fitness and swordplay. What was the point of getting her trained at the Temple if it was done so poorly?

“Hmm,” Obi-Wan cupped his jaw and let the anger settle deep in his chest, down where it wouldn’t impede him.

She had failed, but so had he. He was the Master and it was beyond time she learned how to think far more creatively. To teach her to use all her skills in combat. He would not invest decades in his chosen apprentice for her to die due to lack of training and foolishness.
