Iām calling on the help of my friends once again!! I am the sponsor of an amazing group of kids at WCHS called The Dream Council. Itās an acts of service based group that wants to make the school, and our community, a better place. We noticed that too many students in our building go hungry, so we started a food drive for some anonymous students. After three years it has grown into a full blown food pantry that I run out of my classroom! This is our third annual Thanks for the Giving Food Drive! We are in our final push for non perishable food items and basic toiletries for high school students! But we do collect year round. We are looking for: cereals, soups, pastas and sauces, breakfast/protein bars, nut butters, fruit cups, crackers, fruit snacks, applesauce, travel-sized shampoo/conditioner/body wash, toothpaste and toothbrushes, deodorant, anything! If youād like to donate and arenāt sure, google food pantry and they provide lists of dos and donāts. I have last period prep, so there are no students in my room... that is when the majority of the students come in and fill up their bags from the pantry. Iāve been able to build some awesome relationships with these kids and feel exceedingly privileged to be able to do so. We have a collection box in the main office of WCHS and each of the grade level administratorās offices.
