i'm sure i will regret it when it comes time for the first exam
but right now i'm so tired and even the red bull i drank at the beginning of class didn't help that much

So I have a 1:30 appointment next Thursday with the Global Programs director to talk about study abroad. HI I'M GOING TO DO EVERYTHING WITHIN MY POWER TO BE NOT ON THIS CONTINENT NEXT YEAR WOO HOO.
Speaking of continents, my third world development professor asked us last night if we were sure that Africa is a continent and not a country because some people genuinely don't know (though he can't figure out why) and it just reminded me of that screw up on Whose Line where Drew said that Africa was a country and the rest of the cast made fun of him for it for the rest of the episode.
So my third world development professor is awesome. He cut class down to an hour and fifteen minutes (rather than the normal two hours and forty-five minutes) and went over the freakin' 9 page syllabus. And then we voted to cut the class itself down to two hours every week so that's better than staying 'til nearly seven. After class was over though, I went to ask about one of the projects because I already have an idea for it, and we ended up talking for like ten or fifteen minutes about developing countries and all. It was a really great conversation and it's not everyday I actually get to talk to someone who's from a developing nation (he's from Sierra Leone) who does so much to get students involved. I guess he said he organises international service learning trips to Botswana and other African countries and told me if I'm interested to try and get my service learning requirement (which doesn't have to be international) with him and I could actually go to Africa.
