That isn't what you think it is
Us: *talking about my dad's childhood in Korea*
Me: So apa, I guess we're pretty weak. I think bugs are pretty scary. The first time I ever saw a cockroach, I cried.
Apa: I mean, we were really poor, farms and all that so bugs were everywhere. You know, in Korean culture, cockroaches are called 돈벌래 (money bug) and were kinda considered to be good luck. I guess that's why I'm not that afraid of them.
Me: ... are you sure that cockroaches were considered good luck in Korea? I really feel like they're associated with filth and disease... something about that doesn't seem right to me. Let's look it up in Google.
Me:*looks it up in Google, expecting to see a cockroach*
Me: WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS THAT. THAT IS NOT A FUCKING COCKROACH. THAT IS WHAT NIGHTMARES ARE MADE OF HOW THE FUCK WERE YOU NOT SCARED OF THAT SHIT. FUCK THAT. FUCK THAT. HOLY SHIT THAT'S THE SCARIEST FUCKING BUG I'VE EVER SEEN. WHY. JUST WHY DOES THAT EXIST?! THAT LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING THAT WOULD STEAL YOUR SOUL AND CRUSH IT FOR FUN. JESUS CHRIST WHY.
Apa: *looks over* Huh, wait, if that's not a cockroach, what is?
Me: *googles cockroach*
Apa: Ohhhh... that's a totally different bug.
